Last updated: 9 August 2026. These terms govern your use of My Companion, a digital subscription app provided by Valora Parentis ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them.
My Companion is a digital software application (a subscription service) that helps a family keep a calm daily eye on an older relative through a self-service check-in, gentle reminders, notifications, and tools to organise support among the family. It is delivered entirely as software, over the internet.
My Companion is not a medical device, monitoring service, or emergency service. If a check-in is missed, the app notifies the family contacts you have chosen — it does not contact the emergency services and does not replace a personal alarm, a care line, a care service, or professional or medical care. You must not rely on it as a safety-critical or life-critical system. Always keep any existing alarms and care arrangements in place, and call the emergency services directly in an emergency.
You sign in with your email address using a one-time link. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for activity under your account. The service is intended for adults arranging support for a consenting adult relative.
New families get a 14-day free trial, with no card required to start. At the end of the trial, paid features pause until you choose to subscribe — we do not charge you automatically. If you subscribe, the Family plan is a recurring monthly subscription; payments are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), and your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Prices are shown on our pricing page and may change with notice for future billing periods.
You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops the next payment. See our Refunds & Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
Use the app only for its intended purpose and only for a person who consents to being checked in on. Do not misuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, and it may be affected by matters outside our control (networks, devices, third-party providers). Given clause 2, do not treat it as a guaranteed safety net.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes arising from reliance on the app as a medical, monitoring, or emergency service (which it is not — see clause 2).
We may update these terms; the current version lives at this page with its date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
